Sárkány Józsefre emlékezhetünk a Pécsi Galériában
IdÅ‘kapu - In memoriam Sárkány József cÃmmel nyÃlt meg január 30-án a Pécsi Galéria új kiállÃtása, amely a 2019-ben váratlanul elhunyt művészettörténész munkásságának állÃt emléket.

2019. január 17-én, 63 éves korában tragikus hirtelenséggel elhunyt Sárkány József, művészettörténész, a pécsi Janus Pannonius Múzeum Bánffy Miklós-dÃjas osztályvezetÅ‘ fÅ‘muzeológusa, akinek munkássága összeforrott számos helyi, országos és nemzetközi relevanciájú rendezvénnyel.
1993-ban többedmagával létrehozta a DeForma KépzÅ‘- és Iparművészeti AlapÃtványt, amelynek kuratóriumi elnökeként számos kiállÃtást, Siklóson nemzetközi kerámia és porcelán, Pécsett bronzszobrászati, Ajkán üvegművészeti szimpóziumokat szervezett.
Halálának évfordulóján a Pécsi Galéria kiállÃtása a Sárkány József által szervezett különféle szimpóziumokra és alkotótelepekre készült munkákból mutat be válogatást, tisztelegve a pécsi művészeti élet egyik markáns egyénisége elÅ‘tt.
A tárlaton az alkotótelepeken készült üveg, kerámia, és bronz plasztikákból láthatunk válogatást a teljesség igénye nélkül, egyrészt a tárgyak formavilága szerint, választ keresve arra a kérdésre, hogy hogyan kommunikál egymással a forma és az anyag, és a különbözÅ‘ anyagokból milyen módon hozható létre ugyanaz a forma. Másrészt a válogatás során fontos szerepet játszottak a bronzokat és kerámiákat érintÅ‘ tematikák, amelyek már túlmutatnak a tárgyak funkcionalitásán. Ezek már képzÅ‘művészeti alkotások, amelyek a maguk saját eszközrendszerével az élet olyan egyszerű kérdéseit jelenÃtik meg, mint a magány, a szeretet, a gyerekkor és a kapcsolatok.
